Pondering Clasps

So the other night, while sitting out in my shop I start digging through a small bowl, that is over flowing, of components and sawed out shapes that have been put aside for whatever reason but just did not have the heart to discard. Sometimes this bowl can be full of inspiration! The reason for the dig, was that I wanted to come up with some unique, different ideas for findings for my Sundown Findings Etsy shop. Which brings me to clasps. This is something that I constantly struggle with, not making them, but incorporating them into jewelry, especially bracelets. I don't like to "notice" the clasp in a bracelet, especially since sometimes the clasp ends up on the top of your wrist. So I drug out some copper shapes that were in my bowl and soldered a clasp to the back. Then I tried it out...how did it work with specifically a bracelet? how did it wear? would it flip? (can't stand that!) any problems fastening? The clasp was great! No flipping, comfortable, and even when the clasp did sit atop my wrist, at least it was pretty to look at.

So, I've made a couple clasps and a connector to put in my shop. I'd love to know your thoughts!

Oops, more of the yucky stuff. Didn't notice it until I started editing. Time to break out the baking soda!
