Checking In

I can't believe it...has it really been more than 2 weeks since I last posted? Where does the time go? The last couple of weeks have been a blur. Super busy as it always is this time of year. I feel like I'm being pulled in 20 different directions, but I can't complain I LOVE this time of year!

Thank you for all the well wishes for the Studio Tour. Now that seems like so long ago...but it was a huge success. It was super busy, overwhelming at times. About 400 people passed through over the weekend. I'm not used to having that many people in and out of my little work area.

The following weekend we had out Christmas Bazaar at school. I always enjoy the bazaar. I'm the chairperson for the Spirit Booth and man were we slammed! Another super busy weekend...running back and forth to school, setting up, then selling like crazy! But all in all it was a lot of fun.

So this week, I have been trying to catch my breath. Actually, I have carved out a little time of each day for me...I have been catching up with friends, reading, and well enjoying myself. And No...I have not made any new jewelry. I have barely been in my workshop since Thanksgiving. I'm going to be on hiatus until after the first of the year.

I did manage to get my Christmas trees up. We have a "formal" tree in our front living room. It's artifical and I love the decorations. Lots of crosses, and angels in gold and red. I like to think of it as my Victorian tree. I never get tired of gazing at this tree.

My Fav Tree...I love to curl up with a book and sit in front of the tree in the evenings. Ahhhh...

An angel...

In the family room, we have a real tree. I love the aroma of a real tree. This is where we put our more fun decorations and the decorations that the kids have made over the years. And other than the lights and a little help the children decorate this tree themselves. This year they did really well decorating...the decorations are all over the tree instead of being clumped in one area.

The Kid's Tree

Ruldolph ~ or at least that is what my daughter named him...she made this ornament using a light bulb that she painted brown then decorated. I thought this was such a cleaver idea.

More list making to resume this coming week. Christmas cards, wrapping, shopping, activities at school, and enjoying the Christmas season.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Hi Shelby...great to see you "back"! I missed hearing from you! Your trees are both beautiful..we finally put ours up today.
I'm feeling like you were before your shows these days. I remember when you said you had pretty much every hour accounted for! Now I'm in the midst of deadlines and hoping to get them behind me so I can enjoy the season too before it's gone! Reading a book in front of the tree sounds like heaven. :-)
