Somewhat Back to Normal

It's a little late, but Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday season!

Although I love the holiday season, I welcome a more relaxed, slower pace. Or as my husband says...I'm back on vacation. Well no! not really but we will get back to a schedule and by the end of the week, hopefully my house will be running like a well oiled machine again.

For Christmas I received Ronna Weltman's Ancient Modern book. I have really enjoyed pouring over this book. The idea is that I will transition from purchasing lampwork beads and start to make some of my own beads out of clay for my designs. We'll see how this goes. I can tend to give up easily on ideas that don't go the way I expect. Keep your fingers crossed.

This is one of my first experiments. I'm pretty happy with the outcome....I'm hoping for a lot of improvement but you have to start somewhere.

There are lots of things that I want and need to do this week. First and foremost is clean...or else I might have to start feeding the dust bunnies...Yikes! And definately get rolling with some new projects. There hasn't been anything new for quite a while and I'm ready to get the creative juices flowing again.

  4. Wow! I thought the set that you made was a picture from the magazine! Looks like you did really good! As far as feeding the dust bunnies! Ha, Ha! You are much cleaner than me! I cleaned up around here today, cleaned the kitchen in the afternoon and then dropped a pound of dried pasta on the floor! Eddie had fun running through it as I cleaned it up. It was rather funny! Can't wait to see the project in person! Looks like fun!

  9. Happy New Year...your beads look lovely, and I am sure you will do well in this new creative endeavor. The book looks good, is it about making clay beads, or another type of jewelry design book?
