and, remember this,
it's my Bead Soup clasp. I'm working on it today too, again...the key word there is, again...just saying...
Friday evening, we will be attending the Worcester Prep Gala at Seacrets in Ocean City, MD. This is WPS's biggest fundraiser of the year, and since this is where my kids attend school, we are more than happy to attend. This year they asked if I'd be interested in donating a piece of jewelry. Of course! I was excited about donating an item, but a little nervous as well. Nervous because I'm not really good at marketing myself and my jewelry to people I know, or people my kids know. It's so much easier for me to try and sell to the unknown, or people who I've developed a relationship with through my business. Weird, yes? I don't know, it's just how I am. At any rate, I've donated, what I think is a wonderfully, beautiful bracelet, lots of oxidized sterling silver, and lovely lampwork beads.
I'm hopeful that this piece is well received by those in attendance, and it will bring in a little $$ for the school.
What about you? Do you have a hard time marketing your jewelry to your friends and colleagues?
That is a gorgeous bracelet! Crossing my fingers that it goes for big bucks....I know exactly what you mean, though, about trying to market to friends or people you know :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that bracelet! Hope it brings in some good $$ for the school!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with you on the marketing to friends/people you know...
This is a lovely bracelet, it WILL be well received! I'm with you on marketing to family and friends, I actually think I feel like I'm obligated to give them a discount wish creates the skepticism.
ReplyDeleteSome lucky lady will be so happy with that gorgeous bracelet! I am sure it will bring lots of $$$$$.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty! Yes, people I know are the hardest for me to sell to. I just want to give things away.
ReplyDeleteI think more than a few of us are stretching our horizons on this Bead Soup!
